So here is the deal. We are going to upload a new image daily with a detailed description. If you simply like to look at amazing photographs, please stop by and give us your thoughts! If you are a photographer, please enjoy the descriptions and hints from the photographers that have submitted the images.
We encourage our photographer friends in the community to share their photos and include detailed descriptions. Please see the “submit a photo” page.
About the Owner:
The site was handed over to Lee in 2013 when other commitments meant the creators no longer had time to focus on the site. Lee is a part time photographer and long time lover of PhotoBotos!
About the Creators:
Pretty simple. You have Charlie and Tom. They are brothers.
Charlie is a marine mammalogist by background and has traveled the world studying everything from harbor seals to humpback whales. An avid photographer, his camera is always in hand. Some of his photographs are not that great while others are currently hung in museums. Charlie is extremely well versed in all aspects of photography.
As for Tom… He has a lot of spare time on his hands so Charlie got him to put together this website. To his credit, he does own a really nice camera.
The Fine Print
Why does PhotoBotos have Fine Print? Well, we were going to make it Big Print in line with everything else, but, why take away from the main purpose of the site as outlined above?
We put together PhotoBotos to create an open forum in which our HUGE community of friends can discuss photography and travel openly. Comments are not moderated or removed unless they are anything other than “G” Rated. If you absolutely love a photograph, tell us! If you think that we made a mistake by featuring a certain photographer, tell us! Please just keep everything as clean as we do – our mom visits this website!
As for the photographers that we feature… None are paid nor do any photographers pay to be a Featured Photographer for a day. We are not commissioned in any way and will never be. If you want to use an image for the wallpaper on your computer, go for it! If you want to share the image with your friends, just link back to the page that hosts the image and the photographer’s credits. If you want to use the image commercially or would like to order a print please contact the photographer directly through one of the links that we provide to their personal website(s) for permission. As you may or may not have noticed, we reduce the file size of each image that we upload to both reduce the time that it takes for PhotoBotos to load and to prevent piracy of images. Our Featured Photographers retain the full-sized images and are more than happy to discuss them with you.
Product Reviews are written by us and Guest Reviewers. Our crystal ball tells us that we will have review requests for products that we have not personally had our hands on. In those cases, we will only use sources that we deem completely reliable and we will not pass along any recommendations that have not undergone our full due diligence process.
