Attention All Camera Geeks (like us) and Spouses of Camera Geeks!

I was at Starbuck’s last Sunday morning getting my wife her daily grind, when I saw this guy with a Canon lens in his hand.  I was checking it out to see if I could tell what size it was when to my amazement he handed it over the counter to one of the baristas.  I was stunned.  I then asked him if he just handed a Canon lens over to the Starbuck’s guy and he said “No, it is just a coffee mug shaped like a Canon lens (24-105mm) that he got as a present.”  I then proceeded to hang around like some crazed stalker to see if he was telling the truth.  Sure enough it came back full of steaming hot coffee.   The crazy part was after he loaded his $5 coffee with sugar, he took a sip then put a lens cap on it.  Yeah, the mug even came with a lens cap for a lid!

Driving home I knew I had to have one.  I don’t even drink coffee (tea drinker), but I get my wife a tall non-fat Misto almost every morning.  Now I could help save the environment by not wasting paper cups and have a really neat looking mug that my dog doesn’t squash when he steps on it jumping into the front seat.  I told my wife my plan and she said she would drink out of it as long as I always bought the coffee.  No brainer! I always buy the coffee anyway.  So, now I have a 24-105mm Canon lens coffee mug on the way that I bought online.   The only problem is my wife and I leave things in our cars all the time.  An exact replica of a $1,000 lens siting in the front seat could be tempting to someone with sticky fingers.  Oh well, I guess I better keep the car clean.   You can check out my new mug below.  They come in both 24-105mm (11 oz.) and 70-200mm (16 oz.) replicas.  I ordered the small one.
