Bear Family Fishing Trip – Katmai National Park, Alaska – Roman “Terrise” Golubenko

Bear Family Fishing Trip – Katmai National Park, Alaska – Roman “Terrise” Golubenko
This brown bear family with big bear cubs is quite the change from the typical one bear chasing one fish shot. However if they catch this little guy he might be tough to split 5 hungry ways. Since the Mom is probably teaching her cubs, my guess it is every brown bear for himself during this fishing trip.
Chances are if you have seen photos like this then it was taken in Katmai National park, Alaska and mainly at a place know as Brooks Falls. So if brown bear viewing is on your life list this is the place to be. There is just no other place like it in the world. To see even more amazing brown bear shots please visit Roman’s website at

Roman is currently in the backwoods of Alaska searching for more beautiful bear images so he sent us this full article of his experience below!

I had fish last night for dinner, too. Love this bear photo!
Incredible capture! I have already seen photos with fishing bears but not with a whole family involved.
Hats off, Roman!
Awesome!
AWESOME!
Really beautiful shot
It is amazing that creatures that big and weigh that much can maneuver and balance so well. Hope their fishing expedition was profittable.
Wonder if they said grace first?

Nice
Too cute. It’s a little like taking your kids to the grocery store and teaching them how to shop.
How sweet is that? and how nice of the salmon to aim for their mouths like that!
Terrific photo!
That’s one amazing picture! Lovely to see bears in their ‘zone’
.
cool shot
What an amazing photo to be able to capture, the entire family fishing.
Just wonderful!
that is just too good.
Gotta love it! One day I’d love to see this up close and personal and a distance away so that I don’t get slashed.

A family out on a fishing trip… beautiful action photo.
What a great shot… If feels that it would be refreshing!
Nice to see a family of bears
The balance of nature writ large.
Gaping mouths indeed! “AMBITION: The journey of a thousand miles sometimes ends very, very badly” (Despair.com).

The BBC News article was excellent, too.
I LOVE THIS…Is that the best or what? Nature is really something. I love the animals as you know.
That is an amazing capture! Great timing and beautiful image
Love this!
Wow, wonderful! But not for the fish, imagine seeing those gaping mouths awaiting you…
Wow — THAT’S impressive!
Now THAT’S impressive!
How lovely, great shot!
Amazing shot, such beautiful animals… ♥
Its a great shot in that 1 fish is jumping; enables me to focus more on the expressive nature of the bears and provides more emotional bias that enables the “awww” factor for me. Great shot.
Awww… what a cute family. And the expressions on their faces are almost human-like.
The anticipation in the furthest bear’s face is priceless! Great shot!
That is such a cute pic; just makes me smile…
Apart from the awwww factor that is a great action shot Roman…
amazing
So, they just sit there and wait for lunch to jump in their mouths! Wonderful photo.
