Happy New Year! Today’s image sums up the passing of time and a truly great shot of sunrise in the forest. I just can’t believe it isn’t HDR (High Dynamic Range) like this beautiful forest image. http://www.photobotos.com/a-beautiful-morning-trakoscan-croatia-boris-frkovic/. Enjoy your first day of the new year and please read Evgeni’s story below then visit her website http://www.evgenidinevphotography.com/ for more great images.
Enjoy!

This forest is on the road to an ancient Thracian sanctuary in Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria. While I passed through it I noticed this old deciduous tree. Just after the sunrise the sun shined on the forest. I stood against it and choose a low angle to catch the whole trunk of the tree. The photo is one shot, it’s not an HDR, post-processed with Adobe Lightroom.

It somehow made me think of LothLorien, a fantasy realm in Tolkien’s world. So beautiful…

This is probably the closest I’ll get to world travel. Thanks again.
Golden!
It is certainly the king of the forest and you portrayed it in a kingly way. Beautiful.

Fabulous capture! Awesome!
I like to take pictures of old trees. This one is a prize winner! With the light shining through it’s stunning!
It certainly looks like a mythical deity!
