The picture was taken during a family vacation in Limburg, a Provence of the Netherlands, deep in the south. It is my favorite ‘place to be’ for a vacation, because of the beautiful nature, there is a lot of space and it looks almost ‘foreign’. I saw the horses one day when I was out looking around to find something I’d like to capture. The horses came up to the fence and were acting very friendly; it was as if they were posing especially for the picture I wanted to take. They were not nervous at all, and had a lot of positive energy. A very nice experience to be in touch with nature this way and I think that is exactly what you can see in this picture.

“Anyone know what breed of horses these are?” Easy one – Belgian Draft Horse (Belgisch Trekpaard or Brabants Trekpaard in Dutch). Beautiful animals, aren’t they, and generally very gentle. I like how the light seems to radiate from the horses.
