Red Riding Hood (Happy Ending) – Herzeliya, Israel – Shlomi Nissim
I wasn’t expecting this to be the end of the story. They kiss and make up after eating Grandma? Pretty cool PC version of the story. Both Red and the Big Bad wolf look gorgeous in this image while the woods in the background make the perfect setting. I love everything about this image. Maybe now they will team up and get those three little naughty pigs! Just Kidding. Here is another Red Ridng Hood image we featured last year by one of our youngest featured artists.
This Red Riding Hood image and several other images in Shlomi’s portfolio seem to take on the dream like state of a fairytale. They are not over processed, but they almost don’t seem real. In fact like many great photographers the images seems to have a stamp saying made by Shlomi Nissim running through the middle of them. Not literally of course, but check them out here www.shlominissim.com to see what I mean. You can also like him on Facebook HERE and stay current with his new works.

All my photographs are a result of my love for nature. So this opportunity to meet a Young wolf up close was a tremendous gift for me. I could not imagine how amazing this animal is because for me the wolf is one of the great works of creation. It has the capacity to penetrate the human heart. It is The Beauty and the Beast rolled together in one Heart.
But let’s get back to the story of this particular photograph! At this period time I just turned from documentary photography to staged photography. I realized that what I had envisioned was no longer attainable as a documentary, so I started to stage my visions and from then on the borders were crushed. I wanted to shoot a Red Riding Hood tribute so I needed a wolf, Forest, and young girl to complete the image.
So after I had the wolf and this dramatic forest, it was left for me to find Little Red Riding Hood. I am lucky to find “models” that inspire me. They don’t have to transform themselves to suit my ideas; they are already the character I seek. I chose to photograph with a girl I usually photograph with horses. Her name is Odelia and she is a 17 years old Arab horse trainer. I knew she wanted to meet the wolf and that she would be perfect for this photo. So during a winter afternoon with excellent natural lighting we met in the woods and 2 photographs were born. One is the featured photo from today. You are welcome to see the photograph attached link…http://www.shlominissim.com/inner_gallery.asp?id=405
And the second is “Little Red Riding Hood – the true story” that Describing my experience with this amazing wolf…
Amazingly the kiss in the photograph was the very first contact between them. Long live the wolves!

Beautiful, beautiful photo!
that is too hard to believe; she didn’t know this wolf?
The line of trees on either side is a perfect draw into the woods. Wonderful photograph of Red and the Wolf kiss.
The color and clarity are exquisite

It’s not often your excellent work also elicits a hearty laugh beyond my usual admiration. If you’re truly after the three little pigs, I’m afraid someone else got there before you: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/video/2012/feb/29/open-journalism-three-little-pigs-advert
Thanks for the Link Mike! Classic.
It’s at once, sensuous and mythical.
Absolutely love this awesome image! Great composition! Helps us to believe that what is in our heads can be brought forth into a reality.
