Rolling Clouds (Sky Tsunami) – Geneva, Switzerland – Alex Teuscher

Weather patterns always make great subjects and this one is spectacular. It looks like a large breaking wave cresting over the mountainside.  Alex Teuscher is great at Adobe Photoshop as seen here in his previous post “Dare to Dream” but he assures me this image is one hundred percent real. Please read his story below to find out the story behind the image. Also if you have a great weather image feel free to pass it along to us by email or in the comment section below. You can like him on his Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ASTphotoDesign.page and visit his online portfolio at www.astphotodesign.com

Enjoy!

This photo was taken as part of my project 365, which I started a little over a month ago. So far it’s been very rewarding, as evidenced by this photo, but also extremely tough! If only every day I could get shots like this one! Anyway, I digress.

This photo I’m quite proud of. I was walking along the Lake Leman, looking for something to photograph for the day, when I saw the clouds slowly creeping over the Saleve (local mountain overlooking Geneva). It was pretty awe inspiring and I quickly took the photo and knew I had my image.

I have had some comments online with people saying it is composited and so on, but there is no retouching done on this image, simply an adjustment to levels and contrast, and then a little color balance correction.

  1. Amazing… It’s a work of art…

  2. Absolutely stunning. I’ve been catching up on several days’ worth of photos and this is by far my favourite!

  3. Exquisite photos! thanks for stopping by my blog. Yours is very inspirational :)

  4. Magnificent – the shape of the mountains adds to the illusion. When I was a child living in Christchurch, NZ, the clouds used to pour over the hills like that – and I often used to scare myself by pretending they were huge waves…

  5. Oh. Wow.

  6. ok. That photo frightened me at first. I thought that was water! A 2nd look and reading the description so glad it was clouds! It has to be one of the best photos ever.
