Tri Colored Heron with Fish -  J. N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Florida

If I was a congressman, I would write a bill to make the Tricolored Heron the national bird.  Why you ask?  Well, simply because it has a blue back, white belly, and red throat.  Red, white, and blue!  It is a regular “Uncle Sam” of the bird world.  I know you are probably thinking what about the yellow on the legs and bill?  Got it covered.  A few golden stars couldn’t hurt.  If you think I am crazy, remember, the great Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird.  By the way, I hope you like the flight photo with the catch of the day.  If you have any bird and fish photos we would love to see them. Send them on in!
